So my daughter with her doc martins loves Pearl Jam. Nosing around her room while she was at school and wife at work, dog sleeping lazily by the foot of her messy bed, I found the purple cd called Ten. Slung it in the CD player her grandma bought her and I am hooked. Smoked a fag out of the window with the music blaring. Where were Pearl Jam when I really needed them eh? When I was young and could have used them to look cooler than I was.
That song 'Black' my god what a song! Is it cheesy to say that it made me feel like I understood a small part of my daughters strange newfound personality becuase of it?
Careful not to sound like a creep that snoops through his daughters room. I am not a pervert, i assure you. Innocent loving father doing the only thing he knows how to do (snoop) under the guise of tidying the house for his wife. Sad.
Cant help but wonder when our little fairy girl who loved pink and dolls started wearing frumpy boots and dying her hair with blue bits? I honestly didnt see the transition to this 'emo girl'? is that what they call it? Emo? Hmmm. Wasnt I the same as a boy? Rebelling with my ripped jeans and Smiths T-shirt. SHe's so like me...why cant she see that? The only two vegetarians in the family and will she one day come back to me, asking my advice, letting me be her dad?
